Friends of Myakka River
Celebrate BIKE YOUR PARK DAY and NATIONAL PUBLIC LANDS DAY at Myakka River State Park with a fun, 7-mile ride and a service project.
In this fun, and FREE, family-friendly event, in honor of Bike Your Park Day AND National Public Lands Day, we will use our bicycles to remove invasive plants, which threaten Myakka's biodiversity, and therefore health.
Harnessing pedal power, we will ride through the park, with Park Rangers and Friends of Myakka River members as our guides. We will enjoy a Wild and Scenic slow-paced 7-mile roundtrip loop on Myakka's paved Park Drive, while stopping to learn about her rich history. Following the ride, we will engage in a 40 minute invasive plant removal service project.
Not a member yet? Annual individual membership is $25, Couple/Family is $35.
