Friends of Myakka River exists to support Myakka River State Park and the Wild and Scenic Myakka River.
TOGETHER, WE'RE PROTECTING AND SHARING MYAKKA'S MAGIC, TO THE BENEFIT OF FUTURE GENERATIONS, AND OUR OWN.
With over 800 species in Myakka River State Park, learning and identifying plants can seem like an overwhelming task.
In this program, Master Naturalist (and FOMR Member) Steve White will focus on seven park plants that are both common AND have fascinating stories. These are plants that every self-respecting park visitor should know!
Join us on this leisurely, informative and fun journey up Ranch House Road and into the world of Myakka's flora.
REGISTRATION LIMITED TO 30 PARTICIPANTS!
Tickets: $20 per person, $10 for Friends of Myakka River Members.
Registration closes on Wednesday, March 6, or once the event is full

THIS EVENT HAS REACHED CAPACITY - PLEASE SIGN UP FOR THE WAITLIST IN CASE WE HAVE CANCELLATIONS
On Sunday, March 17, we'll celebrate all things green by taking a Wild & Scenic Road Ride to observe and discuss the important role that native plants play in Myakka's natural communities.
Then, after a short (under an hour) service project, we will enjoy a free picnic lunch, sponsored by grant funds from Adventure Cycling and National Environmental Education Foundation.
PLEASE NOTE: Total ride distance will be approximately 10 miles. We'll share more details about the ride length and the service project with registrants closer to the event. Lunch will take place in a covered pavilion.
