Share Myakka's Magic on Earth Day!

Thanks to the generosity of our 2021 Giving Tuesday Facebook donors, we are thrilled to be able to cover the cost of park admission fees for 250 cars, on Saturday, April 23, from 9am until 12pm, in honor of Earth Day.

Join us at the historic Log Pavilion, where we will have a range of fun nature connection activities for all ages, including a Myakka photo scavenger hunt, with the chance to win a private Ranger-guided hike for up to 4 individuals to Deep Hole in Myakka's beautiful Wilderness Preserve. The hike will be scheduled for early May -- a great time to spot wildflowers!

We'll also have Storytime for kids, with our very special guest authors Jan Williams and Richard Skaare, who will be reading from their children's book “Heronymus Heron Discovers His Shadow (and a whole lot more)” as well as additional engaging guided activities.

Storytime will take place at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 at the Log Pavilion. Feel free to bring chairs or picnic blankets. Self-guided and guided activities will be available throughout the event.

Registration is NOT required for this event and free admission to the park on April 23 is available on a first-come, first serve basis, from 9am until our event ends at Noon (or until we reach our cap of 250 cars).

For additional updates, be sure to follow us on Facebook or Instagram.
