Sarasota, FL - Friends of Myakka River, a local nonprofit organization that supports the Myakka River State Park and the Wild and Scenic Myakka River, will be holding a free, Earth Day Celebration on April 23rd, from 9am to 12pm.
“Thanks to the generosity of our 2021 Giving Tuesday donors, we are able to cover park admission fees for 250 cars, during our Earth Day Celebration" said Miri Hardy, Executive Director of Friends of Myakka River. "And all visitors who attend our celebration will be able to enjoy a range of free nature connection activities, suitable for all ages”
As part of the Earth Day celebration, Jan Williams and Richard Skaare will be read from their children's book, “https://herotheheron.com/Heronymus Heron Discovers His Shadow (and a whole lot more)”. Storytime will take place at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30. Self guided and guided activities will be available throughout the event.
